The Place
The pharmacy is situated next to a med clinic (as usual) and the neighbourhood nearby are elderly apartments and a few other huge supermarket-kind pharmacies. Strategically, this pharmacy serves quite nice and friendly customers either from next door or elderly living nearby. And old people always like to stick to the same place so they make really loyal customers for the pharmacy. So much so that the pharmer there has made friends with almost all the customers who comes in.
On a typical day, an old granny swings the door and steps into the pharmacy.
Pharmer: Hi Joe!
Joe: Hi Eric, how are you today?
Pharmer: Good, thanks. How about you? (goes to comp to check for refills)
Joe: Good. But the weather ain't good eh? I thought summer just lasted for a week! It was raining cats and dogs yesterday and I couldn't get out of the house~
Pharmer: (after checking) So you just want your hypertensives and diabetic meds today?
Joe: Yes please.
(pharmer packs meds while old granny continues to talk to pharmer)
Pharmer: ok your meds are all ready.... (counsel a few sentences and ask for payment)
Pharmer: So how's Vanessa?(Joe's granddaughter) I saw her a few days ago. She came to the pharmacy looking for some meds for travelling. She is on holiday eh?
Joe: Oh she's getting married! She's going to XXX for her wedding and honeymoon. Didn't she tell you that?
Pharmer: No she didn't. She just asked me for some Imodium and injection for travelling.
Joe: Oh that cheeky girl, she's getting married!! (repeats again)
Pharmer: how about Sharon? ....... (the conversation about the granny's family usually continues if there are no bizness or if the granny is waiting for a cab to pick him up at the pharmacy)
Joe: alright, thanks Eric. Have a good day! (steps out of pharmacy)
Oh man, that pharmacy is really the place to spend post-retirement years. haha
