played facebook for half the day and did flyer and poster design for the other half.
made a few of this with different backgrd colours but i like this colour the most. haha can imagine it on the VJ LCD screen at the canteen. hahahafluff races is quite addictive. haha and stumbled upon this group called: You know you're from Hong Kong when... V interesting to know that everyone shares a common HK culture even after migrating to different countries.
not all of them were very accurate, but i shall put down some which is spot-on, at least in my family. XD
You know you're from Hong Kong when...
You pretend (and tell people) that you know Mandarin because you can speak Cantonese.
You love to go yum cha.
You know what it means when you call someone inch. (HAHAHHAHA!!!)
You eat instant noodles too often.
You ALWAYS buy real software and DVDs. ALWAYS. (LOL.)
When having dim sum, you rinse your dishes in hot water before you eat.
You miss the drinks and snacks that you can only get in Hong Kong.
When there is a sale on toilet paper, you buy 100 rolls and store them in your closet or in the bedroom of an adult child who has moved out. (HAHA, this often happens in my family, jus tt we store it in the storeroom. I still dunno whats the obsession with toilet rolls.)
Your mother used to hit you with a chicken-feather duster and shout "da sei lei!" (HAHAHA!!)
You have more than five remotes in your house.
Your dad is some sort of engineer. (wah, really classic. My dad loves to invent things.)
You ask your parents help on one math problem and 2 hours later they're still lecturing.
You wish you could go back to Hong Kong for just 1 day, which you would spend shopping and eating. (yeap!!!)
Your parents have either made you play the piano, the violin, or both. (haha, no la i "volunteered" to play piano coz i didn't like go for ballet/drawing classes. -__-''') The furniture in your house never matches the wallpaper, the carpet, the decorations, or any of the rest of the furniture. (haha just buy whatever that fits the space!)
People think that PK stands for Penalty Kick, but you know what it really means.
and the list goes on......
Mum came in asking me whats vascular calcification and she said it in chinese. HUH???? after much research, i managed to give her a mini-patho lesson on it in chinese. I'm only a future pharmacist leh, y so demanding one???
Speaking of expectations of a pharmacist, HAIZ. Expect so much yet give us meagre pay. I wonder if foreign pharmers will still want to come and practice here after knowing how little they will get. oh by the way the job market now is very good, I'm not surprised if people decide to stop practising and become a banker/FA/whatever gives better pay than a pharmer. Still remembered what the siglap pharmer said: Guy pharmacists have no future la, they can't even earn enough to feed a family. Even though what he said is somewhat true, I feel sad for his pessimism.
Fortunately, we students are still a hopeful bunch. Went for MAF and watch the juniors/seniors play games and eat mooncake:
saw this indecipherable poem on NUS Chinese Soc's MAF posters. Whoa.
